Based in Stamford, Lincolnshire, The Blues Volcanos draw their inspiration from the 60′s and 70′s blues and blues rock era. Influences include Cream, Hendrix, Muddy Waters, Santana, Howlin Wolf, Free, Doors and the Rolling Stones. Plus many more. The great thing about this genre of music is you easily make it your own unique sound and enjoy the sheer pleasure of rocking out to no nonsense tunes and our audiences love it too! Tim Coulton on guitar

Tim Coulton, like all the Volcanos has been lying dormant for donkeys of years. He was in a punk band back in the 70′s but since then he’s been noodling on his own and doing all the stuff most of us do like bringing up kids and working. But determined get back to his rock and roll roots he formed the Blues Volcano in 2010 and has been its self elected leader and general tyrant ever since. He’s the guitarist but also the band geek creating backing tracks using Logic Studio where he also plays bass and keyboards. He also plays harmonica and looks after the sound engineering.

Ian Hopkins - Vocals

Ian Hopkins was discovered through the School Mums circuit! Hes been crooning to friends and unsuspecting members of the public at parties and in Karaoke bars  for years , but this is his first outing in a band. He’s got an amazing voice and its fantastic that we have tapped him into the band. Everytime he performs he just gets better and better. He’s also an entertaining frontman with a great sense of humour

 
 

Pete Saunders - Bass

Bass Player Pete Saunders joined The Blues Volcano in April 2012 having previously played with Stampede in the late 1970s, Runway Five in the 1990s, 3 Faze in the 2000s and the last band he was in was the ever popular Take Note Band. Wanting a change in musical direction The Blues Volcano is ideal for solid Bass lines and a totally different genre of music. Happy to be erupting in your area soon.
